Mzansi Celebs Head to France to Support Boks

If you go down the streets of Paris, France today, 16 October, you’re sure of a big surprise as many proud South African celebrities will be there without the bother of a disguise.

Many Mzansi icons have travelled to the European country to support the beloved Springboks during the Rugby World Cup, which has kept fans on the edge of their seats match after match.

The Springboks were on particular form yesterday, as they scraped through the quarter-final rounds with a 28-29 victory over tournament hosts France in the country’s national stadium.

Radio presenters Thando Thabethe and Robert Marawa were spotted proudly supporting the Boks in the stands, with Thabethe gleefully waving the national flag.

Comedienne Lesego Tlhabi, who is known by her stage name of Coconut Kelz, also claimed a spot beside Rachel Kolisi, wife of none other than Springboks captain Siya Kolisi. Rachel was spotted wildly jumping up and down on her seat at the full-time whistle, celebrating her husband’s victory.

Even former South African cricket player, Graeme Smith, who is now commentator, chose to forgo the International Cricket Council T20 Men’s World Cup, which is happening in India right now. Instead, Smith shared a photo of himself in the French stadium with the simple caption of “Boks” via Instagram shortly after the win.
