Mzansi Stars to Shine at Earthshot Prize Awards
Cape Town is set to host the fourth annual Earthshot Prize Awards in South Africa from 4-7 November, highlighting local talent and environmental innovation.
Mzansi actress and Earthshot Global Ambassador, Nomzamo Mbatha, will lead the week-long event, joined by Australian conservationist Robert Irwin for dialogues aimed at scaling climate solutions.
The awards ceremony on 6 November will be co-hosted by celebrated local television personality Bonang Matheba, alongside Emmy-winner Billy Porter.
Matheba, known for her dynamic hosting style, expressed her excitement about celebrating the achievements of environmental innovators, and spotlighting Africa’s vibrant spirit and commitment to a sustainable future.
The evening will feature performances by prominent African artists, including Grammy-nominated South African composer Lebo M with the Ndlovu Youth Choir, as well as deejay sensation Uncle Waffles.
South African rapper Moozlie will host a live green carpet pre-show with Nigerian presenter, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, streaming globally to engage audiences.
Founded by Prince William, the Earthshot Prize aims to foster impactful environmental concepts. Through partnerships with MultiChoice and YouTube, the event will reach millions, underscoring South Africa’s pivotal role in driving global climate action.
