Nabi Reflects on Amakhosi’s 1-0 Defeat
Kaizer Chiefs coach, Nasreddine Nabi, is seemingly in a foul mood following the Glamour Boys’ 1-0 loss to Golden Arrows on Sunday, 12 January.
Playing at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, Chiefs garnered their second defeat of the Betway Premiership season after Arrows’ Gladwin Shitolo scored the only goal of the game in the 56th minute.
As a result, the Soweto outfit find themselves sitting in sixth place on the Premier Soccer League table with 18 points. As for Arrows, they currently occupy fifth place, also with 18 points, albeit with a superior goal difference.
In a post-match interview, Nabi bemoaned that his players did not perform up to par.
“It’s always the same issue,” the Tunisian tactician seethed. “When you don’t convert your opportunities to score, you’re keeping the opponent alive, and when you don’t score, he puts in
his opportunities, then you have to run after the score.”
He added: “Today, it’s absolutely a deceiving result, and we’re very aware that we didn’t do well; maybe not a lot, but there were enough opportunities to look for something, probably the easiest than what the opponent got.”
