Nicki Minaj’s Father Dies in Hit-and-Run Accident

Nicki Minaj’s father, Robert Maraj, died at the age of 64 over the weekend.

According to police reports, the “Anaconda” hitmaker’s father was struck by a vehicle while walking along a road in Mineola in Long Island, New York, early on Friday night, 12 February. The driver immediately fled the scene after the collision.

Maraj was rushed to a nearby hospital, but was declared dead the following day.

Nassau County police have appealed to local citizens in the area to come forward with any information regarding the fatal incident.

Minaj – real name Onika Tanya Maraj – was born in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, but grew up in the Queens borough of New York City.

Tributes from fans and friends have poured in from across social media, after her representative confirmed Maraj’s passing.

However, Minaj has yet to make a public statement.
