Njabulo Ngcobo in Talks With AmaZulu
Kaizer Chiefs defender, Njabulo Ngcobo, is more than likely to leave Amakhosi for another club.
Ngcobo is one of five Chiefs players, including Itumeleng Khune and Keagan Dolly, whose contracts expire on 30 June 2024. If recent reports are anything to go by, Chiefs are not planning to renew their contracts.
Ngcobo, who arrived at Naturena from Moroka Swallows in 2021, has only scored one goal in 43 appearances across all competitions. As such, he has already started exploring other options when his current deal ends.
Per previous comments made by his agent, Sboniso Ngubane, the 29-year-old defender may well be heading to AmaZulu FC.
“Kaizer Chiefs is a professional club, they communicate about their intentions,” Ngubane told a local media outlet last month. “Unfortunately, they have not said anything about Njabulo Ngcobo. We are in talks with different clubs in the DStv Premiership, including AmaZulu FC.”
Talks between Ngcobo’s camp and AmaZulu are ongoing – if all goes well, Ngcobo could find himself signing a pre-contract with the Durban-based outfit that will be effective from 1 July 2024, according to player regulations.
