One-Year-Old Declared World’s Youngest Artist
At the ripe old age of one year and 152 days, Ace-Liam Nana Sam Ankrah has been declared the World’s Youngest Male Artist by the Guinness World Records.
The young Ghanaian was awarded the title after he was featured in a professional exhibition that was open to the public; he sold nine of his 10 artworks that were on display.
His proud mother, Chantelle Kuukua Eghan – who has also been an artist for eight years – spoke with an international publication on Thursday, 23 May, a few days after the honour was announced.
“He already knows what colours complement each other,” she said before she went on to detail how she had first realised his talent when he was just six months old, after she laid out a stretched canvas on the floor, placed some paint on it and let him play in an attempt to keep him busy as she worked.
Ankrah has already sold 15 pieces of artwork and has even received a commission from Ghana’s First Lady, Rebecca Akufo-Addo, who attended his first exhibition which was held between last December and early January.
