Orlando Pirates Claim 2-0 Victory Over TS Galaxy

Orlando Pirates attained their sixth successive Betway Premiership win after defeating TS Galaxy 2-0 on Tuesday, 29 October.

Playing away at Mbombela Stadium in Mpumalanga, Pirates were kept on their toes by Galaxy, who maintained a 57% possession of the ball for the entirety of the match. By the same token, the Bucs were also able to keep the hosts at bay.

After 16 minutes, the deadlock was broken in the Soweto giants’ favour when midfielder Thalente Mbatha successfully launched a hard, low shot that sailed past Rockets goalkeeper Eliezer Ira Tape.

For the rest of the match, each team maintained a strong pace, with Galaxy especially intent on preventing the visitors from doubling their lead.

Unfortunately for the home team, Pirates’ Relebohile Mofokeng footed a shot from outside the box to the top left corner in the 72nd minute to make the final score 2-0.

As a result of this victory, Orlando Pirates are sitting pretty at the top of the Premier Soccer League table with 18 points. Meanwhile, TS Galaxy are in 16th place with just one point, putting them at risk of relegation.
