Pep Guardiola: Manager of the Year

Congratulations are in order for Pep Guardiola, who has been named manager of the year by the League Managers’ Association.

The 50-year-old Spaniard, who currently coaches Manchester City, was given the award after recently leading his side to a third English Premier League title in four seasons.

In a video released on Monday, 24 May, Guardiola expressed his gratitude for receiving the accolade for the second time – he first won it during City’s 2017/18 campaign, where they reached a record-breaking 100 points.

He said: “I am delighted to win this award for the second time, but an award like this is only possible if a manager is surrounded by top professionals.”

Guardiola continued: “My players have been fantastic – their dedication and professionalism never wavered, even in a season that has been the most challenging we have ever faced.”

He also thanked the club’s staff: “I am so lucky to have a team of people who give everything they have every single day to make sure Manchester City are the best we can be. This award is dedicated to and shared with them.”
