Pirates, Sekhukhune United Set for Nedbank Cup Final

The 2023 Nedbank Cup final at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria, Gauteng, is expected to be an exciting affair tomorrow, Saturday 27 May, as Orlando Pirates duke it out with Sekhukhune United.

Both sides are looking to have their names etched on the trophy, but the odds look to favour the Buccaneers as they already picked up the MTN8 title after defeating AmaZulu earlier this season – not to mention they’ve already lifted the Nedbank Cup eight times before.

The Limpopo underdogs have a hard battle ahead of them if they are to add their first top-flight silverware to their cabinet.

Bucs coach, Jose Riveiro, remains mum about the firepower he has in store for the day, but he might include Thembinkosi Lorch as the midfielder has been making promising strides in improving his fitness.

Riveiro spoke to a local publication after a training session on Thursday, 25 May, but remained tight-lipped: “They are all very good players, to be honest. So, let’s see who will come onto the field on Saturday.”

Fans are in for a treat as the Premier Soccer League announced on the same day that special transport arrangements have been made, and supporters can ride the Gautrain line between Johannesburg and Tshwane for free on the match day.
