PSG and Real Madrid Scrap Over Mbappe
Looks like soccer superstar Kylian Mbappe is stuck in the middle of a scrap between Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Real Madrid.
Los Blancos have been very open about the fact that they are keen to land the 23-year-old French forward – whose contract with PSG ends within a year – on his free transfer during the upcoming summer transfer window.
However, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has hit out at Real’s advances in the past, citing a “lack of respect” to the Ligue 1 giants, after the Spanish club president Florentino Perez admitted last October that they hope to have news on Mbappe’s future in January.
No specific bid amount has been made public, but Perez made transfer offers ranging between £137 million and £154 million for the French International’s signature. PSG’s owners, however, remain mum on any deals put forward.
Al-Khelaifi has previously shown his annoyance in an interview with a French news outlet, saying: “I don’t hide it, we hardly have any relationship with Madrid.”
Meanwhile, Mbappe says he is content with where he is.
“I’m a PSG player, I’m always very happy,” he said after PSG’s 1-0 win against Real on Tuesday, 15 February. He added that he is “not decided” on his future.
Time will tell where he ends up next season.
