PSG Welcomes Ramos to Le Parc des Princes
Spanish defender, Sergio Ramos, has signed a two-year contract with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) following an emotional departure from Real Madrid.
Ramos left Santiago Bernabeu as a free agent in June, after the expiry of his contract, which he would have loved to extend – but the club withdrew this offer, claiming that it had an expiry date.
PSG chairman and chief executive, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, welcomed Ramos with open arms.
He said: “Paris welcomes one of the greatest players of our era. We are delighted to announce that Sergio Ramos has joined us. Sergio is a complete footballer, one of the best defenders in the history of the game.”
The former Madrid star took to Twitter to celebrate the deal. He wrote: “The best place to keep on dreaming, the best club to keep on winning. We’re going to fight with everything we have for everything.”
