Rachel Kolisi Takes Legal Action Against Kolisi Foundation

Rachel Kolisi’s dramatic exit from the Kolisi Foundation has taken a legal turn, as she has filed a constructive dismissal claim against the organisation she helped build as its co-founder and former CEO.

The complaint, lodged with the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration, alleges that the foundation’s board created an intolerable work environment, forcing her to resign in February.

Despite speculation linking her departure to her divorce from Siya Kolisi, legal filings suggest deeper tensions within the organisation’s leadership.

Kolisi, who played a central role in shaping the foundation’s vision, is seeking reinstatement or compensation. Her sudden departure surprised partner affiliates, many of whom credit her with driving their mission forward.

Some insiders suggest that boardroom politics and concerns about her social media presence may have contributed to the fallout.

The foundation, which tackles social inequalities in South Africa, has remained tight-lipped on the dispute. With conciliation talks looming, the case could reshape the foundation’s governance – and Rachel Kolisi’s future in philanthropy.
