Red Bull Salzburg Ready to “Dominate” Dynamo Kyiv
FC Red Bull Salzburg will not hold back when they face FC Dynamo Kyiv in the second leg of the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League play-off round.
That’s according to Salzburg head coach, Pepijn Lijnders, who led his team to a 2-0 victory over the Ukrainian club in the first leg of the play-off round last Wednesday, 21 August.
Although the Austrians have the upper hand, Lijnders conveyed in a pre-match interview with a Ukrainian soccer media outlet that he still wants his players to give their all against the Blue & Whites.
“In the return match against Dynamo, we want to attack, control the game and dominate,” he explained. “But against this team, we will not be carefree, from the first to the last minute of the duel.”
Calling Kyiv “a very good team”, Lijnders said that Salzburg will need to bring out the big guns to beat them: “We will need all our arsenal, all our weapons – both in offence and defence.”
Salzburg and Kyiv will clash tonight, Tuesday 27 August, at the Red Bull Arena in Leipzig, Germany.
