Ruben Amorim Starts Tenure as Man U Coach

Ruben Amorim has officially taken over as head coach of Manchester United, marking a new era following Erik ten Hag’s sacking last month.

The 39-year-old former footballer’s appointment officially began on Monday, 11 November, with his first decision being the release of interim coach, Ruud van Nistelrooy, who led United to three wins and a draw in four matches, concluding with a 3-0 victory over Leicester City last weekend.

Amorim’s arrival was highly anticipated, especially after his impressive record with Sporting Lisbon, where he recently secured 10 consecutive league wins and defeated Manchester City 4-1 in the UEFA Champions League.

In his final match with Sporting, he led the charge for a remarkable comeback, rallying from a two-goal deficit to defeat Braga 4-2, thus sealing an unforgettable exit.

The Portuguese coach will now manage the Red Devils, who are currently stuttering in 13th place with 15 points on the English Premier League table.

His first challenge is an away game against Ipswich Town on 24 November, followed by a Europa League match against Norway’s Bodo/Glimt.
