Souaibou Marou Makes Move to Bahrain
Former Orlando Pirates player, Souaibou Marou, has officially joined a Middle Eastern club.
Two months ago, the Buccaneers released Marou from his contract ahead of the 2024/25 Premier Soccer League (PSL) season, thus leaving him a free agent.
Earlier this week, Al Shabab FC – a football club based in Bahrain – confirmed in a statement that they had acquired the services of the 23-year-old striker.
“Al Shabab [signed] a contract with Cameroonian player Souaibou Marou to represent the first football team in the new [2024/2025] sports season,” the statement said.
Per reports, he was offered a one-year deal with a one-year option to extend. Details regarding his salary remain unknown.
After a challenging period in the PSL, where he had minimal playing time with the Bucs, Marou might find the opportunity to reclaim his form and revitalise his career in both the Saudi Professional League and the Bahraini Premier League.
