South African Rapper Da L.E.S Hospitalised After Stroke
South African rapper Leslie Mampe Jr., popularly known as Da L.E.S, has been hospitalised after suffering a stroke on Friday, 26 July.
News of the musician’s misfortune was confirmed by his family in a statement released on Sunday, 28 July.
Mampe, who is also a star of “Love and Hip Hop South Africa”, missed his 39th birthday celebration due to the health crisis. A post on his official Instagram account notified fans of the cancellation, citing “unforeseen circumstances”.
His family reported that Mampe is in a stable condition, but emphasised that his recovery will take time. They expressed deep sadness over the situation and called on the public to keep him in their thoughts and prayers during this challenging period.
Mampe first gained fame as a member of the hip hop group Jozi, later achieving success as a solo artist. His career includes collaborations with notable artists such as the late AKA, Riky Rick, Burna Boy, and Nadia Nakai. He is also known for hosting exclusive events and appeared on television productions like “The Real Jozi A-Listers”.
The Mampe family promised to keep fans updated on the musician’s condition as more information becomes available.
