Stanley Tshabalala in Recovery Following Shooting

Orlando Pirates’ technical director, Stanley “Bra Stan” Tshabalala, is in recovery after he was shot during a burglary.

On Wednesday afternoon, 20 March, Tshabalala’s house in Centurion, Gauteng was broken into. The 75-year-old was subsequently shot.

The following day, Pirates provided an update on Tshabalala’s condition in a statement, confirming that the former Bafana Bafana had indeed been the victim of a shooting during the break-in and is now on the mend.

“The matter is currently in the hands of the South African Police Services,” the statement reads. “The Tshabalala family would like to thank the public for their messages of support during this time and have asked for privacy while Bra Stan is recovering.”

Fans sent in messages of support to Tshabalala and his family during this difficult time.

“Prayers are with Bra Stan and his family,” one fan wrote on Twitter/X.

“May the great old sage get well soon,” another tweep wrote.
