Sterling Hints at Man City Exit
Raheem Sterling has revealed that he’s considering a move away from Manchester City due to lack of game time.
Despite playing a vital role in leading England to the finals of the Euro 2020 tournament, the 26-year-old forward has only featured in two Premier League starts this season.
The fallen-out-of-favour forward has only 2 years remaining on his contract and according to reports, City has placed extension talks on hold to allow Sterling enough time to think carefully about his options.
During an interview at the FT Business of Sport US summit, the England forward disclosed that he is open to a move abroad, to find more game time.
Sterling said: “If there was an opportunity to go somewhere else, [for more game time], I would be open to it at this moment in time.”
He added: “As an English player all I know is the Premier League and I have always had something down that maybe one day I would love to play abroad to see how I would come up against that challenge.”
