SuperSport Draw 0-0 With Stellenbosch

SuperSport United look resigned to remain in third place on the Premier Soccer League (PSL) log following their goalless draw with Stellenbosch FC at Pretoria’s TUT Stadium on Tuesday evening, 2 May.

Possession of the ball was evenly matched, although SuperSport tried their best to increase theirs above 54%. Yellow cards were also equally distributed: Stellenbosch’s Juan Ortiz and SuperSport’s Kegan Johannes were both cautioned for bad fouls.

As for making shots on target, Stellies were far more successful than their hosts, who had none at all despite the shots not landing.

The result of their match means that SuperSport remain lingering in third place with 48 points on the log, just one point behind second-placed Orlando Pirates. As for Stellenbosch, they’re in sixth place with 37 points.

What’s more, SuperSport will potentially miss out on qualifying for the upcoming CAF Champions League season, as only the reigning PSL champions (that being Mamelodi Sundowns) and the runners-up (Pirates) may qualify for it.
