T.I. Bumps Into Dutch Cops, Gets Arrested
American rapper T.I. recently bumped into the police while in the Netherlands – hard enough to get arrested.
On Tuesday night, 3 August, the 40-year-old “Whatever You Like” hitmaker – real name, Clifford Joseph Harris Jr. – posted a video to Instagram Live, while smiling in a jail cell.
Harris had apparently been cycling, while using his cellphone, when he ran into a police officer.
He explained in the two-minute video that he was allegedly apprehended because cellphone usage is not permitted while biking, but other reasons included being without his passport and breaking the officer’s rear-view mirror.
Despite being in hot-water, the three-time Grammy Award winner cheerfully said: “[The cop] was extremely upset … I’m still not upset, I’m having a phenomenal time. They arrested me and didn’t even put me in handcuffs. They just opened the [car] door and invited me to the backseat. I obliged.”
Harris was not allowed to post bail, but later shared a video of his release and thanked his wife, Tiny, for her help.
