Taylor Swift’s Father in Trouble with Oz Law
Australian authorities have their eye on Taylor Swift’s father, Scott Swift, after he was accused of assaulting a local paparazzi photographer.
The alleged incident is said to have taken place last night, Monday 26 February, at a ferry wharf in Sydney when the 34-year-old popstar disembarked from a superyacht. Taylor was believed to have been celebrating the final Australian concert in her popular “Eras” tour, which has taken the world by storm.
Fifty-one-year-old Ben McDonald claims Scott “charged” at him as the father, daughter, and their security guards attempted to leave the marina.
“In 23 years of doing this I’ve never been assaulted, let alone been punched in the face by a father,” McDonald told an international publication after the altercation.
However, the singer’s media team sees things differently, telling the same news outlet that the photographers had been overzealous about getting their shot.
“Two individuals were aggressively pushing their way towards Taylor, grabbing at her security personnel, and threatening to throw a female staff member into the water,” Taylor’s representative said.
New South Wales police have confirmed that they are investigating the matter.
