Ten Hag Offers Ronaldo Second Chance
Manchester United coach Erik ten Hag has confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo will be joining the squad that takes on Sheriff Tiraspol at Old Trafford tonight, Thursday 27 October.
The 37-year-old Portuguese forward reportedly had a serious talk with Ten Hag on Monday, 24 October, regarding his past petulant behaviour and future with the team.
The discussion appears to have renewed the 52-year-old Dutch tactician’s confidence in his star player, as he joined first-team training the following day and has been included in the upcoming Europa League game.
In a pre-match address on Wednesday, 26 October, Ten Hag confirmed: “It’s done, he’s back, focus on the game, that’s important that Cristiano is involved in the squad tomorrow.”
While United are in no danger of being knocked out of the tournament, topping Group E is a priority, and you can bet that Ronaldo’s performance will determine if the crunch talks sank in.
