Ten Hag Shares Thoughts on Tough Man United-Wolves Match

Manchester United coach, Erik ten Hag, is not pleased with his team’s performance following their narrow 1-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers at Old Trafford on Monday, 14 August.

For the entirety of the match, the Red Devils were lagging on the offensive, with attacking midfielder Bruno Fernandes and forward Marcus Rashford being pinpointed for their poor offence. It was by the grace of good defence shown by new goalkeeper, Andre Onana, that the hosts managed to fend off the aggressive Wolves.

The match remained goalless until the 76th minute, whereby centre-back Raphael Varane netted a header, allowing United to ultimately claim victory over the visitors.

However, Ten Hag expressed his dissatisfaction in a post-match press conference, saying: “I think we could have scored five or six turnovers and there were overloads, but I think the frontline was not in the best form today and we could have made more out of it from the overload situations.

“We have to move with the ball and be compact. Once we are compact, we have to be aggressive and fight in the duels. Today, we lost some fights.”

Manchester United take on Tottenham Hotspur this Saturday, 19 August – here’s hoping their frontline will be up to scratch this time!
