Tuchel Fuming After 4-0 Loss to Arsenal
Chelsea coach, Thomas Tuchel, was left fuming after the club’s painful, pre-season 4-0 defeat to Arsenal in Orlando, Florida on Sunday, 24 July.
The friendly match was held at Camping World Stadium, with the first goal scored 15 minutes in by striker Gabrial Jesus. The second goal was scored by midfielder Martin Ødegaard at the 36th minute.
Midfielder Bukayo Saka earned the third goal for the Gunners at the 66th minute; team-mate Albert Sambi Lokonga closed the match with the final goal at the 92nd minute.
“We were simply not good enough. We were simply not competitive,” Tuchel said before he went on to say that the Blues “deserved to lose.”
According to Tuchel, defender Kalidou Koulibaly was the only salvation for Chelsea, despite only being introduced in the final 20 minutes of the match.
“He was the best player,” he said. “He was incredibly good, I have to say.”
Chelsea will face off against Udinese at the latter’s home stadium, Dacia Arena, in Udine, Italy this Friday, 29 July.
