Tuchel Worried About Kante’s Injury Ahead of UCL Quarter-Final
Chelsea have suffered a big setback following N’Golo Kante’s latest injury and are set to face FC Porto in their UEFA Champions league quarter-final first leg on Wednesday, 7 April without him.
The 29-year-old central midfielder was sent home from the France camp after sustaining a hamstring injury on international duty.
Although the extent of Kante’s injury is not yet known, France confirmed that the midfielder will miss the next two matches of the French team and was sent back to Stamford Bridge for further medical examinations.
The French international, who struggled with form at the beginning of the 2020/21 Premier league season, has been getting back to his very best in recent weeks.
He has received praises from his coach, Thomas Tuchel and played a vital role in Chelsea’s win over Atletico Madrid in the last round of the Champions league.
However, his participation in the next round doesn’t look feasible – as the club is not willing to take a risk over such a key player.
