Tyla Joins Star-Studded Host Committee for 2025 Met Gala

South African music sensation Tyla has secured a prestigious spot on the 2025 Met Gala host committee, solidifying her influence in both the music and fashion industries.

The event, renowned as fashion’s biggest night of the year, will take place on 5 May at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, New York.

This year’s theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style”, will celebrate black dandyism and its impact on fashion from the 18th century to today. The exhibition will focus on menswear-inspired design, making it the first time since 2003 that the Met Gala has exclusively highlighted this theme.

The 23-year-old songstress joins an esteemed group of host committee members, including Simone Biles, Janelle Monae, and Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. The event will be co-chaired by Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, Pharrell Williams, Colman Domingo and Anna Wintour, with LeBron James as honorary chair.

Having previously made headlines with her 2024 Balmain sand gown, Tyla’s growing presence in the fashion world is undeniable. Her inclusion in the host committee marks a significant milestone, further elevating her global profile ahead of what promises to be another historic Met Gala.
