Vuyo Ngcukana, Big Bank Team-Up For Charity
The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has disrupted the academic year for many, but thankfully actor Vuyo Ngcukana has joined forces with Standard Bank to help out.
In mid-February, the 37-year-old “The Queen Mzansi” actor started an initiative – backed by the major bank – to provide much-needed school supplies for learners in disadvantaged areas.
Ngcukana kicked off the project by visiting Ennerdale Primary school – situated in a small suburb just south of Johannesburg, South Africa – to donate stationery packs, school shoes and other essentials to 100 learners.
During the visit, he said: “Education is one of the things I know that can change a person’s life forever. The sooner it is, the more likely it is to give children a brighter future.”
Ngcukana – who is from the area – later added: “I know what it is like to struggle for things that you need to just be on equal footing with other children.”
