Catch up on the latest news, rumours and announcements from the world of video games, tech and entertainment:
– For what it’s worth, reports say that Ubisoft postponed “Assassin’s Creed Shadows” – which is set in 16th-century Japan – to February 2025 in order to polish and to address concerns over historical and cultural accuracy, concerns which were raised by developers long before the action RPG was publicly announced.
– Lingering gameplay and technical issues also rendered “Shadows” unfit to launch on 15 November 2024 as planned, and will also be addressed during this extended development period.
– Despite its entire 25-person staff walking out in a group resignation last month, Annapurna Interactive assured fans in a tweet on Tuesday, 1 October, that it will continue to develop “Silent Hill: Townfall” alongside Konami and No Code.
– The latest “Fortnite” leaks suggest that a collaboration with legendary NBA star, Shaquille O’Neal, will go live this Friday, 4 October.
– Meanwhile, Epic Games, the creator of “Fortnite”, has initiated a lawsuit in the US against Google and Samsung, alleging that the two companies have “colluded” to obstruct the download of the Epic Games Store on their platforms.
