Wednesday Gaming – Mortal Kombat 1, BlizzCon, Xbox and MORE!

Catch up on the latest news, rumours and announcements from the world of video games, tech and entertainment:

– The T-1000 is joining the roster of “Mortal Kombat 1” on 18 March 2025 for players who own the “Khaos Reigns” expansion pack. Other players can purchase the character separately on 25 March 2025.

– In other “MK1” news, Madame Bo will also be joining the roster as a Kameo Fighter. She will be made available to play for “Khaos Reigns” owners and other players on the aforementioned dates.

– Blizzard Entertainment has confirmed that BlizzCon will not take place this year. However, the gaming convention will take place next year over two days (12-13 September 2026). It will be held at the Anaheim Convention Centre in Anaheim, California.

– For what it’s worth, gaming outlets report that Microsoft is developing a next-gen console for the Xbox. Touted as a successor to the Xbox Series X/S, it will allegedly be released in 2027. What’s more, Microsoft is apparently set to release a gaming handheld device – codenamed “Keenan” – later this year.

– Moon Studios, the team behind action RPG, “No Rest for the Wicked”, say they are now “fully independent” after acquiring the rights to the game from its original publisher, the defunct Private Division, which was previously owned by Take-Two Interactive.
