Wednesday Gaming – Nintendo Switch, Mortal Kombat 1, Minecraft and MORE!

– Nintendo will reportedly release the Switch 2 console between April and September 2025. This is according to French video game and accessories maker Nacon, which already has “compatible games and a full range of accessories” ready for the console.

– Amid rumours that no further downloadable content (DLC) will be released for “Mortal Kombat 1”, creator Ed Boon tweeted on Tuesday, 21 January, that NetherRealm Studios “are excited to keep trucking forward with future DLC” following the addition of Conan the Barbarian to the game’s roster.

– “Minecraft” has teamed up with Sanrio to release “Hello Kitty”-themed DLC. Per the DLC’s description, you can “build a cozy farm, grow crops and raise animals with Hello Kitty and Friends [including Keroppi and Tuxedo Sam, among others]. Upgrade your house with cute new furniture and enjoy fun seasonal events like egg hunts and pumpkin carving!” It is currently available to purchase from the in-game marketplace.

– Paramount has announced that a fourth live-action film in the “Sonic the Hedgehog” franchise is coming to theatres on 19 March 2027.

– The film adaptation of “Borderlands” has garnered six nominations at the Golden Raspberry awards, including Worst Picture and Worst Director for Eli Roth.
