After yet another disappointing, trophyless season, Manchester United are considering overhauling their squad – but will Cristiano Ronaldo be one of the players to be discarded?

The four-time Ballon d’Or award winner joined the Red Devils in August 2021 on a two-year deal with an option of staying for three years, although the club’s ailing fortunes might make his eyes wander.

Despite Man United’s overall poor performance, the 37-year-old Portuguese forward has managed to keep them in the Champions League and pushed their EPL points up.

The lack of Champions League’s playtime might prompt Ronaldo to look for an exit door, but his departure will decrease Old Trafford’s high wage bill.

Overall, there has been a divided opinion over whether or not the club should keep CR7 – the decision will fall on the next United manager.
