Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson Fall Out

In a development that has sent shockwaves through the One Direction fandom, Louis Tomlinson has reportedly unfollowed former bandmate Zayn Malik on Instagram. 

This social media move, noted by fans on April 19, 2026, allegedly follows a violent physical altercation between the two singers during the filming of a highly anticipated Netflix docuseries.

Reports claim that tensions reached a breaking point during production when Zayn allegedly made a disparaging remark about Louis’ late mother, Johannah Deakin. 

The verbal spat reportedly turned physical, with witnesses describing a “shocking” scene. “Louis was stunned and in shock… Zayn punched him straight in the face,” a source told the outlet, noting that Zayn’s rings allegedly caused a laceration on Louis’ head. The incident reportedly left Tomlinson with a concussion, requiring immediate medical treatment.

While neither artist has issued an official statement, the unfollowing suggests a significant rift. Louis continues to follow fellow former bandmates Harry Styles and Niall Horan, but his public distancing from Zayn has left many questioning the future of the Netflix project, which is meant to be an in depth look at the band’s history, as well as the solo careers of the members.

This news comes as Zayn has been hospitalised, and is seeing a “top tier cardiologist” for sudden health issues.
