Is Mandla Ncikazi on His Way Out of Pirates?

Rumours are doing the rounds regarding the future of Orlando Pirates assistant coach Mandla Ncikazi.

According to reports as of Wednesday, 21 October, Ncikazi allegedly had a falling out with club manager Abdeslam Ouaddou. Details regarding this alleged falling-out have yet to be revealed.

Ncikazi is currently recovering from knee surgery, which he underwent prior to the start of the 2026/27 Betway Premiership season. However, reports indicate that Ouaddou might walk away from Pirates if, and when, his assistant returns to his post.

Meanwhile, other publications claim that Durban-based outfit, Golden Arrows, is interested in acquiring the services of Ncikazi.

The 57-year-old tactician formerly played for the Arrows in his younger years. He also briefly coached the team to a fourth-place finish during the 2020/21 season before joining the Buccaneers’ technical staff.

Following a recent string of poor performances under coach Pitso Dladla’s management, Abafana Bes’thende are apparently looking for someone to take his place, with Ncikazi topping their list of potential candidates.

However, Arrows team manager Nonceba Madlala claims to know nothing about Ncikazi taking over from Dladla at the club.
