Richards Bay Looking to Sack Ronnie Gabriel

Ronnie Gabriel’s tenure as coach of Richards Bay FC is in serious jeopardy, just two months after his appointment.

In early July, Gabriel was appointed coach of the KwaZulu-Natal outfit. His contract was set to last for one season, with an option to renew.

However, now six games into the ongoing 2026/27 Betway Premiership season, Richards Bay find themselves floundering in 14th place with three points on the Premier Soccer League table.

According to recent reports on Wednesday, 16 September, the Natal Rich Boys’ management are already pursuing other candidates to replace Gabriel.

A notable name among this pool of candidates is former TS Galaxy boss Adnan Beganovic.

“Negotiations [between Richards Bay and Beganovic] are at an advanced stage,” a source recently told a local soccer publication.

The Natal Rich Boys are scheduled to face Sekhukhune United this Saturday, 19 September. Will Gabriel be able to redeem himself, or could he find himself kicked to the curb?
