2023-24 EPL Season Kicks Off
The English Premier League (EPL) is back, baby! The 2023-24 season is kicking off today, Friday 11 August, as reigning champions Manchester City take on Burnley.
While pundits have already favoured the Citizens to win the match held at Burnley’s Turf Moor Stadium in Lancashire, England, the hosts aren’t ready to go down without a fight. For former City captain Vincent Kompany, who now manages Burnley, this game will be personal.
Man City have marked themselves as the team to beat this year, having claimed their third title in a row in the 2022-23 season. Their main rivals currently appear to be Arsenal, who finished the season in second place on the EPL rankings table, and spent the mid-year transfer season furiously reorganising their line-up.
The Gunners will be hosting Nottingham Forest tomorrow, Saturday 12 August, at Emirates Stadium in London, England for their first match. Predictions have strongly favoured Arsenal to win the match on their home soil.
Chelsea fans will be holding their thumbs that the new season will finally break the losing streak that the club suffered last season. They’ll be rolling the dice and testing their fate on Sunday, 13 August, as they take on Liverpool at Stamford Bridge Stadium in London. The two clubs appear to be evenly matched.
