However, there are those brave couples who have spent the time and have patience to build a union that has spanned years, proving that a long-lasting marriage is possible – even in Hollywood.

Here are four celeb marriages that have stood the test of time:

Prince William and Kate Middleton – 10 Years

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge first met as St Andrews University students in 2004. Despite a brief hiatus in 2007, they managed to get back together and eventually got married in a very royal (and highly publicised) wedding in 2011.

Since then, the British Royals have used their status to assist multiple charities for numerous causes; they’ve also had three children: George, Charlotte and Louis.

Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith – 24 Years

The couple first met when Pinkett Smith auditioned as Smith’s love interest for “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” back in 1995. Two years later, they became Mr and Mrs Smith. They’re also the parents of established musicians Jaden and Willow.

The star couple claim the longevity of their relationship is thanks to both giving the other the space to be their own person, and working through whatever problems arise, such as Pinkett Smith’s alleged infidelity issues in 2020.

Keith Richards and Patti Hansen – 38 Years

The infamous Rolling Stones guitarist married model Patti Hansen in December 1983 after meeting four years prior – Keith Richards had managed to buy the then-23-year-old a bottle of champagne after last call.

Together, they have survived their own tribulations – he, multiple substance abuse periods, and her, suffering cancer twice – and are also loving parents to two daughters, Theodora and Alexandra.

Samuel L. Jackson and LaTanya Richardson – 41 years

One of the longest marriages in all of Tinsel Town belongs to Samuel L. Jackson and LaTanya Richardson; the couple married in 1980.

Before tying the knot, they were college sweethearts attending Atlanta’s Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia during the late ‘70s. They’ve gone from strength to strength since that time, and continue to challenge each other to blossom into better people.
