AmaZulu Extends Arthur Zwane’s Contract

AmaZulu FC have extended the contract of manager Arthur Zwane.

Last October, it was announced that Zwane would co-manage the Durban-based outfit alongside Vusimuzi Vilakazi. Following Vilakazi’s resignation three months ago, Zwane took over as the club’s head coach.

AmaZulu have since produced mostly impressive performances under the 51-year-old tactician’s leadership, ultimately finishing sixth in the Premier Soccer League rankings.

As a result, Usuthu management have rewarded Zwane with a contract extension, which will see him stay at the club until 2026.

Speaking to a local media outlet recently, Zwane expressed his happiness, saying: “We started this journey together with [Vilakazi]. We had a long-term plan, but it was always going to be about the results.

“We obviously thank [club president Sandile Zungu] for giving us the opportunity to help stay longer and showcase our talents as coaches. I think AmaZulu is one of the teams that have given mostly so-called inexperienced coaches the opportunity.”

He also praised his players: “We’ve been rewarded because the players showed consistency, even though our performances were fluctuating. But we showed a lot of hunger and commitment. And yeah, we’ve been rewarded by being in the top eight. It’s all up to us now to take it to the next level.”
