AmaZulu United Signs Goalkeeper Richard Ofori
Free agent Richard Ofori has reportedly joined AmaZulu United.
In June of this year, the 30-year-old Ghanaian goalkeeper was released by Orlando Pirates after the Soweto-based club decided to not renew his contract.
As of Sunday, 22 September, reports suggest that Ofori has come to an agreement with AmaZulu and is expected to undergo a medical examination in the coming days before being formally introduced as a player for the Durban-based club.
Details regarding the length of the contract and his salary have yet to be disclosed.
Keeping 30 clean sheets in 58 appearances across all competitions for the Bucs before his release, Ofori doubtlessly brings significant experience and skill, which makes him a huge asset for Usuthu as they chase a top-four finish in their 2024/25 Betway Premiership campaign.
AmaZulu are scheduled to face Kaizer Chiefs at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal this Wednesday, 25 September. It remains to be seen whether or not Ofori will make his starting debut in that match.
