Benni McCarthy’s Agent Shoots Down Amakhosi Coaching Job
Kaizer Chiefs are not ready to be led by a coach of Benni McCarthy’s calibre.
That’s according to McCarthy’s agent, Rob Moore, who was interviewed by a local media outlet (published on Monday, 25 March) about the possibility of his client managing the straggling club.
Since 2022, McCarthy has served on the coaching staff of the English club, Manchester United. As such, Moore believes that the 46-year-old is not the type of person who Chiefs can easily dictate over.
“I don’t know if a club like Kaizer Chiefs would be ready for Benni,” the agent remarked. “Benni is his own guy, and he wants the highest possible standards around him.
“He doesn’t want any interference with regards to the work that he is meant to do. Any coach in the world, that is how [Chiefs] work.”
McCarthy’s contract with Man United concludes at the end of the current English Premier League season. Although Moore claims there have not been any talks between the two parties, speculation is running rife that McCarthy could be a prime candidate to lead Amakhosi back to the top of the Premier Soccer League should he return to South Africa.
