Brentford Down Fulham 3-2

Brentford are catching up to rivals Fulham on the English Premier League (EPL) rankings after beating them 3-2 on Monday evening, 6 March.

Playing from west London’s Gtech Community Stadium, the Bees were spurred into action from the get-go. They opened the scoreboard in the sixth minute with a deflected shot from Ethan Pinnock.

Thirty-three minutes later, though, Fulham equalised the score after Manor Solomon headed a rebound into the back of the net.

Thankfully for the Bees, Ivan Toney slotted in a perfect penalty shot in the 53rd minute to extend their lead to 2-1 (and scoring his 22nd successive penalty in the process). Thirty-two minutes later, team-mate Mathias Jensen scored to make it 3-2.

Despite Fulham’s last-minute goal in stoppage time, Brentford ultimately came out on top. As such, they’re sitting in ninth place on the EPL table with 38 points – a mere one point shy of seventh-placed Fulham.
