Bucs to Extend Dlamini’s Contract Amid Raja Interest
Orlando Pirates are keen to lock down the services of attacking midfielder, Kabelo Dlamini, amid attention from a major African club.
According to reports, Moroccan outfit Raja Casablanca are interested in signing Dlamini, whose contract expires in June 2024.
As a result, the Buccaneers are looking to extend the 27-year-old’s contract by another three years.
“The club has taken the initiative to table a new offer and keep him at the club for another three years,” a source told a local soccer outlet on Thursday, 18 April.
Despite a poor start to the season, the source says that Dlamini “has been part of the team in some important games”, including scoring in Pirates’ 4-2 Nedbank Cup victory over AmaZulu FC last Saturday, 13 April.
“This means the technical team is happy with his performance. Hence, there is this new offer for him.”
Another source added: “They don’t want to lose him for free to any team. The idea to renew his contract for another term was already in the team’s plans, and interest from Raja Casablanca has been a coincidence.”
