Chelsea Finalise £54m Deal for Pedro Neto
Chelsea have completed the signing of winger Pedro Neto from Wolverhampton Wanderers in a deal worth £54 million.
On Sunday, 11 August, the 24-year-old Portuguese player committed to a seven-year contract, with an initial payment of £51.4 million and £2.6 million in add-ons.
Neto, who began his career at SC Braga, has developed into a versatile and skilful forward. After a loan spell at Lazio, where he won the Coppa Italia, the footballer moved to Wolves in 2019.
Over four seasons, he made 135 appearances, showcasing his ability in both scoring and creating goals; he made 11 goal contributions in just 20 English Premier League matches last season.
His consistent performances earned him a regular spot in the Portugal national team, with 10 caps to his name.
Neto’s arrival at Stamford Bridge comes as Chelsea continues to strengthen their squad, adding depth to their attacking options alongside the likes of Raheem Sterling and Mykhailo Mudryk.
Neto said he is eager to start training and contribute to Chelsea’s ambitions: “I feel really grateful to have joined this club. I have worked really hard in my career to be here and I’m looking forward to getting on the pitch with this shirt.”
