City Star Catches Kaizer Chiefs’ Attention
Kaizer Chiefs are interested in signing Cape Town City FC player, Terrence Mashego.
That’s according to City chairman, John Comitis, who confirmed as such in a recent interview: “We were in talks with Kaizer Chiefs regarding Mashego.”
This comes after media outlets reported on Monday, 12 September, that the 24-year-old defender was close to signing a lucrative contract with Gauteng-based outfit, Mamelodi Sundowns – however, Comitis denied these reports.
It’s unknown at this stage if Amakhosi is still in negotiations with City over Mashego’s signature, although judging from Comitis’ brief declamation, it sounds like either these negotiations have ceased, or they may be ongoing.
Meanwhile, there hasn’t been any word, official or otherwise, from Sundowns’ camp about their alleged interest in Mashego.
The Premier Soccer League’s transfer window closes next Thursday, 22 September – between now and then, Mashego may choose to transfer to either Chiefs or Sundowns, or simply stay put at City.
