Davido, Lojay Crack Billboard Hot 100
Nigerian singers Davido and Lojay have officially claimed a spot on one of the most prestigious music charts in the world, the Billboard Hot 100.
The music and entertainment magazine published the rankings of the prior week’s most popular songs on Monday, 29 January. It revealed that Chris Brown’s hit single, “Sensational” – which featured both Davido and Lojay – had debuted at number 96.
Released on 20 October last year, the single appears on Brown’s 11th studio album, “11:11”, which also features other well-known names like Wizkid and Ludacris.
Davido is no stranger to the charts, with 25 songs selected for the Afrobeats Songs section over the course of his illustrious career. The 31-year-old singer has also had 27 songs appear on Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales chart.
It’s not just the digital world that’s paying attention to Davido, as he also appeared in a sold-out O2 Arena in London, England on Sunday evening, 28 January. According to reports, the charged crowd partied as if it were a Saturday night, with an electric atmosphere lighting up the experience.
It’s anyone’s guess what’s next for this Nigerian superstar, but one thing’s for sure, the only way is up!
