Dortmund Claim UCL Final Spot
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are officially out of the running for the UEFA Champions League (UCL) as Kylian Mbappé tumbled over his own feet in the final moments of the match last night, Tuesday 7 May.
PSG walked away from their 0-1 loss to visitors Borussia Dortmund at Parc des Princes Stadium in Paris, France, with their heads hanging low. Mbappé’s slip in the last few seconds of the match threw away any remaining hope that the French side would be able to compete in the UCL final.
The German side will find out who they will be facing in the final stage of the European tournament tonight, when Real Madrid host Bayern Munich at Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in Madrid, Spain.
Statistics have backed the hosts to walk away as the victors of the match this time, as Madrid have won the last eight games against Munich.
This will be the third time Dortmund will be in the UCL final. Curiously, the last time Dortmund competed in the title clash, they beat Munich 2-1 at Wembley Stadium in London, England in 2013.
Whether or not we’ll see a rematch of the 2013 clash on 1 June will be decided tonight.
