Ten Hag’s Future on Thin Ice
Manchester United’s executive management is likely to be quietly shopping around for a new coach as Erik ten Hag’s tenure continues to produce mediocre results.
United endured a humbling 4-0 loss to Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park in London, England on Monday, 6 May. The club has registered a solitary win in their last seven English Premier League (EPL) games, and are currently lingering in eighth place on the EPL table.
The choir calling for the 54-year-old Dutch manager to be replaced grows louder with each match, and it is likely that he will exit Old Trafford at the end of the current season.
Lately, the rumour mill has started drawing odds on who will take up the mantle of Red Devils’ head coach, and so far Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel is looking like a prime candidate for the job. Apparently, he is keen to return to the EPL after he leaves the German club once the current season is over.
Meanwhile, former Real Madrid head Zinedine Zidane and German national side manager, Julian Nagelsmann, are also being eyed for the position, but both are reluctant to step up amid the long-standing issues at United.
