Drew Barrymore Dishes on Lucy Liu-Bill Murray Fight
Actress Drew Barrymore has lifted the lid a little on the infamous bust-up between Lucy Liu and Bill Murray from two decades ago.
Liu and Murray famously got into an altercation on the set of the 2000 film, “Charlie’s Angels”, which saw the latter hurling insults at the former, who stood up for herself.
Speaking to Danny Pellegrino on her eponymous talk show recently, Barrymore spilled a couple of beans on her co-stars’ spat: “[After returning from a family gathering] Bill was just in a – you know, comedians can be a little dark sometimes – and he just came in in a bad mood.”
She went on: “What you have to know is how much Lucy stood up for herself and that was the great thing that came out of an unfortunate circumstance. “[Lucy] literally said, ‘I do not accept that kind of behaviour from you.’ And we all supported her and backed her up and we moved forward.”
Barrymore’s tidbit comes three months after Liu elaborated on the story during a podcast interview, saying: “No matter how low on the totem pole you may be or wherever you came from, there’s no need to condescend or to put other people down.”
