Eidevall Gives Update on Injured Arsenal Women Players
Arsenal Women coach, Jonas Eidevall, has provided an injury update on two of his players ahead of his team’s UEFA Women’s Champions League qualifying match.
This Wednesday, 4 September, the Gunners are scheduled to take on Rangers Women in the first round of the qualifiers at Meadow Park in Boreham, England.
However, Eidevall says that forward Lina Hurtig and midfielder Victoria Pelova will not be part of the matchday squad, due to their respective injuries.
“Lina and Pelova are out of the Champions League week,” the Swedish coach divulged in an interview last Saturday, 31 August.
He explained that Pelova is still in the recovery process from an anterior cruciate ligament rupture she suffered while representing the Netherlands in June.
As for Hurtig, the Swedish striker is “progressing well” in her recovery from a minor injury sustained while on international duty last December. However, she is not ready to return to play just yet.
Will Arsenal triumph over Rangers, or will the latter pull off an upset in tomorrow’s match? As always, watch this space!
