Erling Haaland Shuts Down Chelsea Move
Borussia Dortmund star, Erling Haaland, has played down rumours of a €175-million summer move to English Premier League side, Chelsea FC.
According to recent reports, Chelsea have been pursuing the 21-year-old Norwegian striker’s signature since March.
Earlier this month, German media outlets reported that Haaland had turned down a cash-plus-player offer from the Blues, a deal that would have seen either Tammy Abraham or Callum Odoi-Hudson heading to BVB in exchange.
However, while being interviewed at a pre-season training camp in Switzerland on Tuesday, 27 July, he denied any link whatsoever with Thomas Tuchel’s side.
The striker explained: “I don’t really have much to say about this. I have three years left on my contract and I’m enjoying my time here [at Dortmund]. Before yesterday, I didn’t speak to my agent [Mino Raiola] in one month – I think you have the answer there.”
Haaland added: “I don’t really care too much about that … I hope it’s just rumours to be honest because that’s a lot of money for a person!”
