Ex-Miss California is Paying People to Go Maskless
A former Miss USA runner-up is doing her part during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic … but not in the most sensible nor safest way.
In videos recently posted to her Instagram page, Carrie Prejean Boller – who also briefly reigned as Miss California – is seen handing out $5 bills to adults and children for not wearing masks.
“Tomorrow when you go to school unmasked, your heart’s gonna be racing and you’re gonna be nervous,” Boller is heard telling a young girl whom she gifts in one of the videos. “But I want you to know you’re doing the right thing. Don’t ever, ever question it.”
In another clip, she gives a maskless elderly woman $5, telling her: “We’re all about being free and breathing in free air.”
In response to the backlash towards her anti-mask/vaccine views, Boller merely doubled down on them while speaking to a US media outlet earlier this week, claiming that children are at a low risk of contracting COVID-19, and expressing her doubts around the benefits of their wearing masks.
Clearly, California’s current mask mandate doesn’t faze Boller, who famously clamped down on gay marriage during the Miss America 2009 beauty pageant.
